ManuProtect is generally suited for people who are looking for a basic life protection at affordable premiums. The plan's lump sum benefit payout can best be used to meet some of your basic needs such as income protection, mortgage protection and more.

Malaysians with a permanent address in Malaysia, aged between 17 to 60 years old (based on next birthday) are eligible to apply for ManuProtect.

The minimum basic coverage amount (Face Amount) is RM50,000. You may choose any amount in multiples of RM50,000 subject to a maximum of RM600,000 per life i.e. RM50,000, RM100,000 , RM150,000 etc. You may refer to the Needs Analysis & Financial Calculator to find out the coverage amount that best suits you.

The premiums you have paid may qualify for income tax relief, subject to the terms and conditions of the Inland Revenue Board.

Yes, Malaysians with a permanent Malaysian address but residing outside Malaysia in selected eligible countries are eligible to apply for this plan.

You may only apply for a policy for yourself. This means that we require every individual to enrol by completing the questions on our website and make payment for themselves.

When you have successfully purchased ManuProtect, we will provide you with a link to download your policy contract. Your plan provides coverage for Death up to age 80. It also comes with benefits that cover Total and Permanent Disability and Accidental Death. Our add-on Critical Illness Benefit (if applied for) will expire at age 65.

No, there is no cash value under this plan.

No. The premium that you need to pay will be re-calculated at each policy anniversary, based on your attained age. Your policy will be renewed as long as the required premium is paid up. The premium rates are also non-guaranteed and may be revised as and when Manulife deems necessary to do so. Any revision will only take effect on the next policy anniversary, after a 90-days prior written notice to you.

Your coverage will start on the date you completed your application online, with successful payment of the first premium due. You may cancel your policy by giving written notice to Manulife within 15 days from the receipt of the policy contract. Following that, the premiums that you have paid will be refunded to you.

A 30-day grace period is granted from the due date for the payment of each premium. During this period, the benefits under this policy shall continue to apply. If any premium remains unpaid at the end of the grace period, your policy will lapse and cease to be in force.

The Policy Date of the application will follow the current date of approval, except for applications that are approved on 29th, 30th or 31st of the month, where they will be backdated to 28th of the month in order to facilitate the billing of the renewal premium.

This is a guaranteed renewable term plan, i.e. no completion of a health questionnaire is required on renewal/next policy anniversary. We will notify you one month prior to the policy anniversary of the premium payable. If you are paying the premium using a Credit/Debit card, we will charge for the new premium automatically.

There is a Nomination Form attached to your policy contract. To make a nomination, you will need to follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Print and fill up the Nomination Form
Step 2: Get a witness* to sign in the Nomination Form
Step 3: Prepare a photocopy of your nominee(s) NRIC
Step 4: Submit the Nomination Form & the photocopy of NRIC to our Customer Service Centre or any of our branches.


*A witness has to be someone who is 18 years old and above, of sound mind and must not be your nominee(s).

There are 2 plan options available under ManuEZ-Med, which comes with different hospital room and board entitlement and overall annual and lifetime limits. You may refer to the Needs Analysis & Financial Calculator to find out the coverage amount that best suits you.

ManuEZ-Med is generally suited for people who are looking for a medical insurance plan at an affordable premium. It is a pure protection plan that does not provide any elements of savings or investment.

This is the maximum amount that you can claim during each policy year under your ManuEZ-Med policy and this annual limit will be refreshed on each policy year anniversary.

Once the overall annual limit for a particular policy year has been fully exhausted, all benefits under the policy shall immediately cease to be payable for that remaining policy year.

This is the maximum amount that you can claim under your ManuEZ-Med policy during the whole coverage term. This lifetime limit will not be refreshed once utilised.

Once the overall lifetime limit has been fully exhausted, your policy will cease.

If you need a physical medical card to be sent to you, please send your request to Manulife Customer Service.

Manulife will take up to 2 working days to review your application. Once reviewed, you will be notified on your application status via email and SMS.

If you have applied for the plan and not receive any update from us after 2 working days, please contact us on our Live Chat service or alternatively, you may contact Manulife Customer Service for further assistance.

For ManuEZ-Med application, Manulife will not charge any premium before a policy is issued. The credit/debit card information you provided during the application process is just to hold the first premium amount under your card.

We will immediately inform the bank to release the amount held under your card if we are unable to approve your application.

Note: It may take up to 7 working days for the bank to process this. Please check with your bank if you encounter any issues.

No, you are only allowed to purchase one ManuEZ-Med policy per life.

Yes, your premium will increase according to your attained age upon each policy anniversary.

You can pay your premiums annually or monthly. No extra charges are imposed for either payment modes.

To be enrolled with ManuEZ-Med, your first premium must be made by credit/debit card. If you wish to change the payment method for subsequent premium payment, please contact our Manulife Customer Service for the current payment methods available.

You are only allowed to use the other person’s credit/debit card for payments if the relationship of the card owner to you is any of the below:

  • Spouse
  • Child
  • Parent or legal guardian
  • Sibling

Upgrade of plan is only allowed during the first policy year.

For policy upgrade, you will be subject to normal underwriting process, where Manulife will have the right to request you to undergo medical check-up and submit medical reports for risk assessment purposes.

No, there is no cash value for this policy.

Yes, you can reinstate your policy within 3 years from the policy’s lapse date, subject to all of the following:

  • Fulfillment of underwriting rules at the point of reinstatement as determined by Manulife;
  • Evidence of insurability satisfactory to Manulife at your own cost; and
  • Repayment of all overdue premiums including interest as determined by Manulife.

Yes, you may cancel your policy at any time.

If your selected premium payment mode is annual and you have not made any claims during the policy year, you are entitled to get a portion of your premium refunded based on the current modal premium:

Yes, you can. However, you will need to pay the difference between the room and board rates at your own expense.

No, you will not get any additional pay on your medical/hospital bill by owning multiple medical card policies. However, this plan pays in excess of other medical insurance plans you may have, for instance:

  • If your total claimable hospital bill is RM300,000
  • Whereas your existing/other medical coverage only reimburses up to RM200,000
  • Therefore, you can claim RM200,000 from your existing medical plan first
  • The balance of RM100,000 can then be claimed from your ManuEZ-Med policy
